Current UMKC students apply for admission through the UMKC School of Graduate Studies. Other applicants apply for admission through the UMKC Office of Admissions. Applicants to the Graduate Certificate in College Teaching and Career Preparation can be current doctoral or master’s students or graduates who reside in states where UMKC is authorized to deliver online education to residents.
“As a doctoral student, you often do not learn the art of teaching, its pleasures and its challenges. The PFF program, through intensive coursework, will familiarize you with the necessary teaching skills. The program greatly assisted me in getting several job interviews and landing a tenure-track position in the competitive academic job market. Today, it helps me as a teacher and director of a lab – I keep going back to my PFF course materials and apply what I learned on a regular basis.
