At UMKC we understand that each person’s academic, professional and career goals are unique. Our Natural Sciences Ph.D. program enables students to work across multiple disciplines and develop an academic focus that is just as individual as they are.
Disciplines
The Natural Sciences Ph.D. program takes a multidisciplinary approach to earning a doctorate. Students are admitted to a primary discipline from the participating areas. A secondary discipline is an optional designation after admission, if the student and advisor agree that coursework in multiple areas would be better for research and career goals.
