Writing Studio Appointments:

The UMKC Writing Studio works with all writers on all types of writing—from coursework to conference proposals to sections of your thesis or dissertation—and at any stage in the writing process—whether you’re just getting started or putting the finishing touches on your project.

For graduate writers, these sessions could take many different forms. The Writing Studio can help you make an outline for an upcoming project, integrate sources into your paper, revise a draft, or learn more about whatever citation style your discipline uses, among many other things. We offer face-to-face appointments, online appointments, and email sessions. Visit the Writing Studio website for more information.

Mentorship Program:

If you’re working on a specific writing project and think getting feedback from a faculty mentor might be useful, you might consider the Emeritus Faculty Mentorship program. Emeritus Faculty are retired faculty members who continue serving the university and working with graduate writers. Essentially, it’s a chance to pair up with and learn from a very experienced research and writer. To learn more about this opportunity and/or sign up, click here.
