Disability Studies is an emerging interdisciplinary field that explores disability from a social and cultural context and builds competencies in a model that advocates for social and systems change to support individuals with disabilities.

Why Disability Studies?

An estimated 1.3 billion people worldwide experience significant disability. This represents 16% of the world’s population. That is 1 in 6 of us.

"The program has provided a deep understanding of disability law, the lived experiences of individuals with disabilities across the lifespan, and the systems that shape those experiences. This foundation empowers me to be a stronger advocate — not only for my own family, but for the broader community." —Ashley Morency, Current ILDS Student
